& musical theatre training for stage, film and TV
THE COURSE objective
This bespoke course is intended as a step towards further training at one of the UK's top theatre schools. 100% of Debut graduates successfully gained a place at one of their top choices directly out of their second year of training at renown colleges including, Wilkes Academy, Masters Performing Arts, London Studio Centre, Addict Dance Academy, The Northern Ballet School, Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama (MADD) and many more incredible institutions, all with funding assistance. Other students have gone on to have fantastic Dance, Acting and Musical Theatre careers directly from their BTEC training with Debut, some graduating straight into representation with West-End agents including Russel Smith and commercial agent Dancers Inc.
All graduating students will have a clear knowledge and talent in dancing, singing and acting and how to be fully prepared for auditions, giving them a head start to competitors. Dancers who sing, singers who dance, actors who sing or singers who act, we provide the best training in the North-West for anyone dreaming of a career in Performing Arts. With only 20 places per year, our students receive close and intense training and no-one is overlooked. Regular meetings and tutorials will ensure our teachers and students are constantly working toward their achievements.
Training under current industry performers whose stage, TV and commercial credits include: Dirty Dancing, Coronation Street, Steps, Hollyoaks, Cats, Royal Ballet, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia 2, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, X Factor, BGT, Jessie J, Starlight Express, Cold Feet and Matilda; to name just a few. Students at Debut College are receiving knowledge and teaching from the industry first hand. All of our teachers are not only highly qualified, but highly experienced performers, making training exciting, fresh and current.
Throughout training, in addition to core subjects, Debut provide hours of enrichment and workshops with performers such as Perri and Jordan from Diversity, Alyx Steele (Jessie J), Adam Garcia (Broadway, West-End and Got to Dance), Billy Sawyer (Steps, Jess Glynne) Kimberley Wyatt (PCD), dancers from Matilda, Thriller, Evita, WWRY and more. Not only do you get chance to train harder, but Debut also provide the opportunity to perform on TV, stage and live events, which in itself is valuable training most other colleges do not provide. Students have already performed on Channel 4's 8 out of 10 Cats with Jimmy Carr, featured in an Adidas commercial and successfully received other job offers that go hand in hand with their training.
