Whether you are looking at a career in performing arts or just pursuing a passionate subject for your A-Levels, Debut can help and point you in the right direction. Dance applicants should submit a solo dance video no longer than 1 minute long with their application form. This can be in any style but should show technique and performance skills.
Acting applicants should submit a video monologue no longer than 1 minute long with their application form. This can be any genre or style but should show varied performance skills.
Academic Entry Level (all students)
For both courses students are required to have gained a minimum 5 G.C.S.E's grade 4 or higher, including Maths and English.
Vocational Entry Level (Acting students)
Students must have a high level of acting skill. Students are expected to have studied acting or drama prior to audition and have a passion for the performing arts industry.
Vocational Entry Level (Dance & Musical Theatre students)
Students must have a high level of performing arts skills and have experience in dance and musical theatre including acting and singing with a high skill set in core genres Ballet and Jazz. Students are expected to have studied dance in any genre prior to audition including some knowledge in musical theatre and singing.
Students are streamed based on their experience in certain subjects so knowledge in all areas is not essential, just the passion to improve skills in all areas.
